On Oct. 27, 2026, the University of Texas at Austin introduced UT Dell Medicine, its academic health system, and shared plans to expand access to advanced care through its future cornerstone, UT Dell Medical Center.

Anchored by Dell Medical School, UT Dell Medicine brings together patient care, research and education to turn discoveries into better care and prepare the next generation of health professionals. Its existing clinical practice and ambulatory surgery center, previously known as UT Health Austin, will adopt the new name. The practice already provides primary care and specialty services in areas including orthopedics, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, pulmonology and urology.

“UT Dell Medicine is changing UT and human health for the better,” said UT Austin President Jim Davis. “This is a shift in our fundamental nature that puts patients at the center. Every patient we care for will be surrounded by the full strength of UT, with all of us working together for them as one team. We are proud to introduce UT Dell Medicine and bring this new model health system to Texas and the world.”

Claudia Lucchinetti, M.D., UT’s executive vice president for medical affairs and the executive leader of UT Dell Medicine, presented the name and logo during an unveiling at the University’s Health Transformation Building, where new signage now displays the UT Dell Medicine name.
