On May 7, 1907, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) was founded when eleven laboratory scientists and clinicians met at the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C. to discuss the rapidly emerging field of cancer research.
Today, the AACR accelerates progress toward the prevention and cure of cancer by promoting research, education, communication, and collaboration.
