On Nov. 20, 2019, the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) awarded 10 new recruitment grants, giving $38 million to recruit Texas cancer researchers.

Two Established Investigator awards and a Rising Star award brought three international leaders in synthetic biology to Rice University to study immunotherapy, gastrointestinal cancer treatments, and bacterial applications for cancer therapy.
