Wilton R Earle of NCI published a classic paper describing the production of malignancy in vitro
In 1943, Wilton R. Earle of NCI, who had in the 1930’s pioneered the process of growing cells in culture, published a classic paper describing the production of malignancy in vitro. Katherine K. Sanford of Earle’s group developed the first clone from an isolated cancer cell. Virginia J. Evans also devised a medium that supported growth of cells from many tissues of different animals.
