The University of Wyoming was founded
In 1886, the University of Wyoming (UW), located in Laramie, was founded in 1886, and in 1891 an agricultural college and experiment station was established under the Morrill Agricultural Act.
In 1986, the UW’s Centennial year, the Animal Science/Molecular Biology building was completed. Today, the UW is the state’s only provider of baccalaureate and graduate education, research, and outreach services.
