The Priestley Medal was awarded to Ralph Connor

In 1967, the American Chemical Society awarded the Priestley Medal to Ralph Connor “to recognize distinguished services to chemistry,” the Society’s most prestigious award.

Connor was board chair of Rohm and Haas Company, Philadelphia, and a former chemistry professor at the University of Pennsylvania; during World War II he was chief of the division of explosives in the Office of Scientific Research and Development.
