The costs of hepatitis B vaccine and its administration became a covered benefit under Medicare Part B
On Sept. 1, 1984, with the enactment of P.L. 98-369 by the U.S. Congress, coverage under Part B was extended to hepatitis B vaccine and its administration, furnished to a Medicare beneficiary who is at high or intermediate risk of contracting hepatitis B.
