The CDC established the Division of Injury Epidemiology and Control
In 1986, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) established the Division of Injury Epidemiology and Control, now known as the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC).
The mission is to provide leadership in preventing and controlling injuries by reducing the incidence, severity, and adverse outcomes of injury.
