PATH was founded with seed money from the Ford Foundation

On May 12, 1977, the Program for the Introduction and Adaptation of Contraceptive Technology (PIACT) was founded by Gordon Duncan, Rich Mahoney, and Gordon Perkin with $92,000 in seed money from the Ford Foundation. In 1980, PIACT transitioned to PATH .
Today, PATH is an international nonprofit organization that transforms global health through innovation. PATH takes an entrepreneurial approach to developing and delivering high-impact, low-cost solutions, from lifesaving vaccines and devices to collaborative programs with communities.
