On Feb. 24, 2010, the Immunization Practices Advisory Committee (ACIP) recommended universal Influenza vaccination for those 6 months of age and older.

The expanded recommendation took effect in the 2010 – 2011 influenza season. The new recommendation sought to remove barriers to influenza immunization and signals the importance of preventing influenza across the entire population.
