Holden Cancer Center awarded NCI Center designation

In 2000, the Holden Cancer Center at University of Iowa received National Cancer Institute (NCI) Center designation. The Holden Center is dedicated to bringing the finest cancer care and research to Iowa and beyond.

Holden ensures that all the cancer research, clinical service, and education at Iowa are interdependent. In September, the center was named for the Holden family, of Williamsburg, Iowa, in recognition of their generous $25 million gift.

Holden draws on the expertise of `170 investigators from 41 departments at the University of Iowa. Clinical care, including cancer care, is provided by experts in more than 200 medical specialties at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
