NIH announced formation of All of Us Research program
In 2015, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced The All of Us Research Program, a historic effort to collect and study data from one million or more people living in the United States. The program began national enrollment in 2018 and was expected to last at least 10 years.
The All of Us Research Program is publicly funded, with resources appropriated each year by the U.S. Congress. The 21st Century Cures Act, passed in December 2016, authorized a total of $1.5 billion over ten years for the program.
