On May 5, 2020, ACON Laboratories announced the availability of its SARS-COV-2 IgG/IgM Rapid Test. ACONﾒs test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antibodies (IgG and IgM) to SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) in human serum, plasma, or whole blood.

The test is intended as an aid in identifying individuals with an adaptive response to SARS-CoV-2, indicating a recent or earlier infection. The test was for the detection and differentiation of IgM and IgG antibodies.
