On Aug. 17, 2020, the USDA National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL) has confirmed the first cases of SARS-Co-V-2, within the US, in mink located in two farms in Utah. Individuals that had close contact with the mink have tested positive for Covid-19.
 
Mink have been identified as being susceptible to SARS-Co-V-2, and as a result the USDA has released Interim SARS-CoV-2 Guidance and Recommendations for Farmed Mink and Other Mustelids.  However, there has been no conclusive evidence that animals, including minks, spread the virus to humans.
 
Individuals with Covid-19 should be cautious in preventing the spread of the virus to all animals and should aware of the confirmed SARS-Co-V-2 animal cases in the US.
