On May 6, 2020, 3M and Ford announced that newly designed powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs), developed are on the way to health care workers fighting COVID-19. The 3M/ Ford collaboration brought the new PAPR from idea to product in 40 days. More than 10,000 of the newly designed PAPRs were shipped from Fordﾒs Vreeland facility near Flat Rock, Michigan.
