On Mar. 13, 2020, PATH and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced a collaboration with Vietnam’s Ministry of Health (NIHE) to develop a tracking and reporting system for COVID-19 cases.

Starting in February with a paper system, Viet Nam implemented a real-time online case reporting system for tracking suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases.

PATH was partnering with other governments to establish emergency operations centers; advising them on testing, treating, and managing the outbreak; and standing up digital and data systems that support real-time disease surveillance.
