The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas announced the formation of the 2018 Texas Cancer Plan

On Sept. 25, 2018, the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) announced the formation of the 2018 Texas Cancer Plan, outlining goals to reduce the cancer burden of Texans, focusing on five high priority areas.

Cancer is the leading cause of death among Texans under the age of 85. In 2018, it is estimated that more than 121,460 Texans will be diagnosed with cancer, and approximately 44,700 Texans are expected to lose their lives to cancer.
