On Jan. 29, 2014, NYU Langone Medical Center announced it had received an initial gift in excess of $50 million from Laura and Isaac Perlmutter and the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Foundation to advance cancer research and treatment.

As part of the gift, NYU Langone has renamed the NYU Cancer Institute ﾖ a National Cancer Instituteﾖdesignated cancer center ﾖ the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone. Prior to their current pledge, the Perlmutters contributed over $8 million in support of NYU Langone.
