On April 9, 2013, the American Chemical Society (ACS) awarded Peter Stang, at the University of Utah, the 2013 Priestley Medal.

Dr. Stang was awarded for his distinguished service in the field of chemistry, in particular, for his cutting-edge research in supramolecular chemistry that has had implications for many areas of science, including drug development and more efficient ways to produce gasoline and home heating oil.
