On Apr. 26, 2022, China’s National Health Commission reported a case of human infection with H3N8 avian influenza found in Henan Province. The patient a four 4 year-old boy in Zhumadian City raised chickens at home, and wild ducks were around the home.

The boy developed fever and other symptoms on April 5 , and was admitted to a local medical institution for treatment on the April 10 due to aggravation of his condition.
