On Feb. 1, 2007, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released its long-awaited disease containment strategy for pandemic influenza: Interim Pre-pandemic Planning Guidance: Community Strategy for Pandemic Influenza Mitigation in the United States–Early, Targeted, Layered Use of Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions.

This document was intended for use by states, territories, and local communities in planning for a future pandemic.
