
Siteman Cancer Center was selected to be part of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network
On Mar. 22, 2006, the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington School of Medicine in St. Louis announced it had been accepted into The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), an alliance of the world’s leading cancer centers. The designation allowed Siteman Cancer Center access to and the ability to further improve cancer care guidelines. With this addition, NCCN now includes 20 centers dedicated to improving the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of oncology practice so patients can live better lives.
The Siteman Cancer Center has multidisciplinary programs for all types of cancer. Nearly 6,000 new cancer patients are treated there each year. The Siteman Cancer Center is a partnership of two nationally recognized organizations: Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine. Barnes-Jewish Hospital ranks consistently among the top 10 hospitals nationally in U.S. News and World Report ratings, and in the same ratings, the School of Medicine routinely ranks among the top five medical schools.
In addition to treatment excellence, Siteman Cancer Center also provides access to clinical studies for all disease types and reaches out to over 30,000 people yearly with cancer screening and education programs.
