On May 14, 2002, the International Genomics Consortium (IGC) selected Phoenix for its headquarters. The mission of the IGC is to revolutionize the treatment and prevention of cancer and complex diseases by rigorously developing and applying post-genome science to advances in human health.

The IGC accelerates the translation of genomic and molecular insights into medically useful information and technologies that support better diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes for patients.

IGC supports translational research by providing access to rigorously collected biospecimens, clinically annotated datasets, and genomic analyses across multiple complex diseases. These resources help investigators generate, test, and refine hypotheses more quickly, accelerating the path from bench to bedside.
