On Oct. 2, 1996, SeaMED Corp. was founded in Redmond by Bob Berg. The company manufactured cell-production systems, consoles for breast cancer detection, stem-cell separators and blood-gas monitors.

In mid-1999 Plexus acquired SeaMED. The company had nearly 500 employees at it’s peak.
