The USDA and University of California announced plans to create the Plant Gene Expression Center
In 1984, the USDA and the University of California announce plans to create the Plant Gene Expression Center, a research center that will answer basic questions about the control of gene expression in plants. Today, The Center is located in Albany.
The mission of the Plant Gene Expression Center is to provide the knowledge base to breeders and growers that allows for increased plant productivity and improved quality characteristics, and thus enhanced overall plant fitness and yield.
