In 1963, the first measles vaccines were licensed in 1963. Both vaccines were an inactivated (モkilledヤ) and a live attenuated vaccine (Edmonston B strain) were licensed for use in the U.S. (Pfizer-vax Measles-K by Pfizer and generic vaccine by Lilly). The inactivated vaccine was withdrawn in 1967 because it did not protect against measles virus infection.
