Laboratory evidence of polio infection in persons with non-paralytic disease was published
On Nov. 30, 1912, John F. Anderson and Wade H. Frost published “Transmission of Poliomyelitis by Means of the Stable Fly (Stomoxys Calcitrans)” in the Lancet. This study provided the first laboratory evidence of polio infection in persons with non-paralytic disease.
This paper was followed by other studies and field investigation in the Hygienic Laboratory on poliomyelitis.
