Winship Cancer Institute received its NCI designation

On April 29, 2009, the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University received its National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation. Winship is at the forefront of cancer research and discovery, and is the only NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the state of Georgia.

The NCI selected Emory University and Georgia Tech in 2006 for a joint research program as one of seven National Centers of Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence.
