On Mar. 28, 1890, Washington Agricultural College and School of Science (Washington State University) was established as a land-grant college by the Washington State Legislature.

WSU is a leader in agriculture research and veterinary medicine, and have received national recognition for their work in bioenergetics, high yield wheat, and disease control.

Today, WSU offers nearly 40 specialized research centers, 8 institutes, and 9 laboratories focus on topics ranging from entrepreneurial skills to reproductive biology, social and environmental justice, sleep, and drug addiction.
