UNMC macular degeneration, regenerative medicine research bolstered by $1.3 million gift

On Dec. 18, 2014, the University of Nebraska Medical Center announced it had received a $1.3 million gift by the late Mary and Roy Pearson of Holdrege, Neb. to fund research in age-related macular degeneration and regenerative medicine.

The grant also supported two existing endowed funds established at the University of Nebraska Foundation by the Pearsons during their lifetimes. The Pearsons’ giving to the foundation in support of the University of Nebraska totaled $2.7 million.
