In 1984, the University of Virginia Cancer Center, now Virginia Health, was founded in Charlottesville.  The UVA Cancer Center is affiliated with the University of Virginia Sanchool of Medicine and the UVA Health System.

The Center’s vision is of a collaborative approach to basic and translational research coupled with the delivery of multi-specialty, patient-centered care.
