The report of the President’s Commission on Heart Disease, Cancer, and Stroke was published
On Dec. 9. 1964, President Johnson received the report of the President’s Commission on Heart Disease, Cancer and Stroke in the Cabinet Room at the White House from Dr. Michael DeBakey. reporting that the frequency of heart disease, cancer, and stroke could be reduced by adopting 35 recommendations and 11 separate proposals for legislation.
