Russia renamed the Lenin All-Union Institute of Plant Industry the NIVavilov All-Union Institute of Plant Industry
In 1968, Russia renamed the Lenin All-Union Institute of Plant Industry the N.I.Vavilov All-Union Institute of Plant Industry in honor of the man who built it, during the 1920s and 30s, into the greatest collection of germplasm anywhere.
