Philips to fulfill contract with the HHS for the delivery of 10,000 Trilogy Universal units with accelerated delivery
On Mar. 31, 2020, Philips announced that it was fully committed to fulfill the contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for the delivery of 10,000 Trilogy Universal units exercised by the HHS in September 2019, with initial units scheduled for delivery in August 2020. Philips is working closely with BARDA to accelerate delivery to the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS).
The resulting special Trilogy Universal ventilator was designed for disaster response deployment from the stockpile, which includes, for example, service readiness capabilities and rugged packaging to drop by parachute into disaster areas. The system received U.S. Food and Drug Administration FDA 510(k) clearance in 2019.
