On Oct. 29, 2008, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) announced that Nike founder Philip H. and Penny Knight pledged to give $100 million to the OHSU Cancer Institute, the largest gift in OHSU history.

In recognition of the impact the donors’ generosity would have on the treatment of cancer, OHSU renamed its cancer institute the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute.
