Increased COVID-19 cases reported in US among adults aged 18ヨ22 years
On Sept. 29, 2020, the CDC reported that during Aug. 2ヨSept. 5, 2020, weekly COVID-19 cases among persons aged 18ヨ22 years increased 55% nationally in the U.S.. Increases were greatest in the Northeast (144%) and Midwest (123%). Increases in cases were not solely attributable to increased testing.
Because approximately 45% of persons aged 18ヨ22 years attend colleges and universities, it is likely that some of this increase was linked to resumption of in-person attendance at some colleges and universities.
