Hydroxychloroquine study reported no benefit from malaria drug in Veteran Affairs virus study
On Apr. 21, 2020, a study posted on medRxiv found no evidence that use of hydroxychloroquine, either with or without azithromycin, reduced the risk of mechanical ventilation in patients hospitalized with Covid-19. The study was funded with grants from the National Institutes of Health and the University of Virginia.
