In 2004, the FDA published “Innovation or Stagnation? — Challenge and Opportunity on the Critical Path to New Medical Products,” which examines the critical path needed to bring therapeutic products to fruition, and how FDA can collaborate in the process, from laboratory to production to end use, to make medical breakthroughs available to those in need as quickly as possible.
