Defibrillators were first demonstrated by Jean-Louis Provost and Frederic Batelli
In 1899, Jean-Louis Provost and Frederic Batelli at the University of Geneva, Switzerland discovered that small electrical shocks induced ventricular fibrillation in dogs, and that larger charges would reverse the condition.
