Corus Pharma was acquired by Gilead Sciences for $365 million
On Aug. 11, 2006, Gilead Sciences announced that it had completed its acquisition of Corus Pharma for $365 million. Gilead retained the Corus’ Seattle-based operations, establishing a center of expertise in respiratory therapeutics.
Corus Pharma was founded by Dr. Bruce Montgomery in January 2001 who served as the company’s CEO and Director for five years. Prior to founding Corus, Montgomery was Executive Vice President of Research and Development at PathoGenesis where he managed the development of inhaled tobramycin for the treatment of cystic fibrosis.
