Cardiac Science acquired by Opto Circuits of India for $55 million

On Dec. 3, 2010, Banglore, India-based Opto Circuits announced completion of its merger with Bothell-based Cardiac Science Corp. Opto acquired all of the outstanding shares of Cardiac common stock for $2.30 per share for a total of $55 million.

Cardiac Science manufactured and marketed a family of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic cardiology devices and systems. In 2005, Cardiac Science merged with Quinton Cardiology Systems which was founded in 1953 by UW biomedical engineer Wayne Quinton with the initial focus of developing the first treadmill for cardiac stress testing.
