Bristol-Myers Squibb launched TAXOL (paclitaxel)
In 1993, Bristol-Myers Squibb launched TAXOL (paclitaxel). The company invested hundreds of millions of dollars to supply TAXOL for clinical trials, prepare data for regulatory submission and develop alternative sources of TAXOL.
TAXOL is derived from the bark of the endangered Pacific Yew tree.
