BD announced $20 million investment in Sandy, Utah facility

On Aug. 18, 2016, BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) celebrated the 60th anniversary of its manufacturing facility in Sandy, Utah, and announced a $20 million investment in the Sandy site as part of its broader plan to invest in manufacturing capacity and support anticipated growth in the catheter solutions platform.

Originally Deseret Pharmaceutical Co., founded in 1977 by Dale Ballard, James L. Sorenson and Victor Cartwright, the company created a disposable plastic catheter, and became Utah’s first manufacturer of disposable medical devices.
