Amgen acquired Boulder-based Synergen facility
In 1994, Amgen announced it had acquired Boulder-based Synergen for a $239.6-million or $9.25 per share. Synergen was a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery, development and manufacture of protein-based pharmaceuticals.
Larry Gold, an internationally regarded DNA and RNA researcher, co-founded Synergen in 1981. Following Amgen’s purchase, the facility was renamed LakeCentre and comprised about 300,000 square feet.
