On Oct. 24, 2012, the Immunization Practices Advisory Committee (ACIP) voted 14-0 with one abstention to recommend that pregnant women receive a dose of Tdap during each pregnancy irrespective of the patient’s prior history of receiving Tdap.

Last year, ACIP recommended that pregnant women receive the Tdap vaccine only if they have previously not received one.
