On Nov. 11, 2009, the Pacific Northwest Diabetes Research Institute announced the appointment of William Hagopian, M.D., Ph.D., to Scientific Director, a position previously held by R. Paul Robertson, M.D., since 1997.

Prior to becoming President, CEO, and Scientific Director of PNDRI in 1997, Dr. Robertson held the first endowed Pennock Chair for Diabetes Research and was Professor of Medicine and Cell Biology at the University of Minnesota.
