WHO announced influenza A(H1N2) variant virus infection in the Great Britain and Northern Ireland
On Dec. 1, 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the International Health Regulations National Focal Point (IHR NFP) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland had notified the World Health Organization (WHO) of a human case of swine-origin influenza A(H1N2) virus infection on Nov. 25.
This was the first swine influenza A(H1N2)v case reported in the United Kingdom. No other confirmed cases associated with this event were reported.
