USC study showed Alzheimer’s gene triggers early breakdowns in the blood-brain barrier, predicting cognitive decline
On May 1, 2020, a University of Southern California (USC) study suggested that temporarily suppressing the body’s immune system during the early stages of COVID-19 could help a patient avoid severe symptoms.
The research, published online in the Journal of Medical Virology, showed that an interaction between the bodys two main lines of defense may be causing the immune system to go into overdrive in some patients.
