
US DFC announced $765 million loan to Eastman Kodak to support new expansion into pharmaceuticals
On Jul. 28, 2020, the U.S. International Development Finance Corp. (DFC) announced that it had signed a letter of interest to provide a $765 million loan to Eastman Kodak to support the launch of Kodak Pharmaceuticals, a new subsidiary company to produce critical pharmaceutical components.
The project marked the first use of authority to support the domestic response to COVID-19 under the Defense Production Act (DPA). The DFC, followng a review of insider trading by copmay executives, put the project on hold Aug. 7, 2020.
