University of Minnesota research team completed sequencing the bacterium Pasteurella multocida genome
In 2000, University of Minnesota research team led by Vivek Kapur announced they had completed the sequencing of the bacterium Pasteurella multocida genome known to cause multiple diseases in humans, poultry, cattle and swine.
Overall, the complete genomic sequence and preliminary functional analyses provide a foundation for future research into the mechanisms of pathogenesis and host specificity of this important multispecies pathogen.
